The Royal Photographic Society is now resident in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, in Linear House, along with The Greenwich Gallery.

The premises are in use by RPS London, the London region of the RPS, for meetings, workshops and exhibitions.

The first of the exhibitions began on March 27th celebrating the forming of The Photographic Society – later the Royal Photographic Society – in London, in 1853.

Members of the RPS London region and the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts (RSA) battled the elements to bring a unique view of London over 24 hours between the 19th and 20th January to celebrate the 160th anniversary of the founding of the RPS! See some of the images at the RPS London 1853 group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/l1853/

Now visit the exhibition to see a selection of the best images.

The exhibition is free and will be opened on request by the Linear House Reception Team.

There is a Curators talk on the 23rd April, starting at 18:53! See http://www.rps.org/events/view/3044 for details
