On Monday 30th March we’ll be welcoming Colin Brister to the club to give us his talk about Motocross (MX) photography.
Colin is a full time professional photographer and has been involved in the sport for over ten years, along with his son, both as a rider and a racer as well as a photographer. Once his knees gave way he switched from bike to camera.
Both John Cross and I (Phil Atkinson) have both attended one of his training days which was an experience and a half – One of my lenses still has mud on it! A memorable technique of Colin is to stand in the middle of the track with a wide angled lens and riders zooming towards him.
Don’t worry if motocross isn’t your thing, Colin will be engaging and informative and have some interesting stories. He will be bringing along some of his home made contraptions that he uses for off-camera flash – techniques that can benefit many of us in a wide variety of genres.
It’s sure to be an entertaining evening, so please try to make it.
