Each society or camera club has to submit 15 prints for judging. The judge will critique the prints and award a score out of 20 to each print. The society or club with the highest aggregate score will be the winner.
This is a great opportunity to see the work of other clubs and will be really interesting.
If you have never seen a judge critiquing images it will be an interesting experience and likely to improve your photography.

Congratulations to Muswell Hill for such a clear and decisive win, we look forward to challenging you for the shield in 2017. A big thank you to Dunmow for making the effort to come all the way down to Walthamstow to take part.
Dunmow Camera Club 229 points
Muswell Hill Photographic Society 261 points
Walthamstow & District Photographic Society 254 points
We have a special evening this coming Monday (the 24th August 2015), dedicated to new members and prospective new members.
If you have a keen interest in photography then joining the Walthamstow and District Photographic Society then why not pop along to The Bell to see what the Society is all about.
You don’t need to own a lot of high-end kit or need specialist knowledge, just a love of taking photos.
Our members have dSLRs, compacts and camera phones, shoot digitally and on film and across many genres including people, landscape, street, natural history etc.
We enjoy a lively programme of talks from visiting photographers, how-to sessions, competitions, exhibitions, trips out and social events.
On Monday we will have a team scavenger hunt (taking photos), a talk about the Society and plenty of time to mingle and chat to existing members. So please bring along your camera!
It can always be a little awkward to wander into a ‘strange’ club but we can assure you you will be made to feel very welcome.
Our membership is extremely diverse with people of all races, nationalities and ages. It’s not a club of middle aged men! Indeed women probably make up 40% of attendees on a Monday evening.
If you have any questions before Monday, or simply want to let us know you will be turning up please use the CONTACT FORM.
It’s that time of year again and the Society are exhibiting in the Winns Gallery.
Thirty two members are showing their work and over seventy prints are being shown.
Whatever your taste I’m sure there will be work that you love as there is a wide diversity of styles being shown which reflect the diversity of the Society.
This year for the first time we are asking visitors to vote for their favourite photo in the exhibition.
Members of the Society will be in attendance during opening times, so if you would like more information about the Society pop along and have a chat.
The exhibition is open every day until, and including August Bank Holiday Monday – the 31st, between 11am and 5pm.
WinnsGallery is located within Lloyd Park in the complex with the cafe and artist studios. The entrance is opposite the bowling greens.
On Monday 22nd June there will be no meeting at Greenleaf Road as we’ll be doing our annual summer walk, organised by Mick Ralph. It’s always a great evening so do come if you can, and of course – don’t forget your camera!
We’ll be meeting at London Bridge tube station at 7pm. Meet in the concourse at the top of the main escalators (by the Jubilee Line).
The walk last year was rudely interrupted by a torrential downpour, so this year things pick up from where they were left off.
If you can’t make it for then, get in touch for a mobile number so we can let you know where we’ve got to.
Mick has selected a good pub to finish the evening off in – somewhere near Tower Bridge.
On the 15th June the final round, of 3, of the Walker Print Trophy took place.
The results are as follows;
Jump – Philip Atkinson
Vulture – Stephanie Waterman
Wily Coyote – John Cross
Portwey – Jackie Robinson
The competition was judged by Ken Payne – you can view his website by CLICKING HERE. He has quite a number of training videos online, many of them Lightroom related. Worth a view.
So the overall results of this year’s Walker Print are as follows;
John Cross – 44 points
Philip Atkinson – 38 points
Teresa Elves & Stephanie Waterman – 12 points
5th place went to Mick Ralph with 10 points.
Congratulations to John and everyone who has made time to enter the competition and made it such a success.
