Albert Bale Memorial Trophy
It may come as a surprise that it is shortly time for the Albert Bale Memorial Trophy.
This competition has been moved from Autumn to June 17th 2013.
This is the only competition of the Society with a specific theme – A Human Portrait.
It is a print competition where only ONE entry is allowed per member.
Dimensions of the maximum mount size are 20” x 16” or 50 cm x 40 cm.
Prints can be either Black & White or Colour.
No need to pre-register for this competition. Simply bring along your print on the evening.
Walker Trophy – Call for Entries
Walker Print Competition Round 2 – 20 May
Maximum of 4 images per person, maximum mount size is 500mm x 400mm (or 20 inches by 16 inches in old money) There is no limit of the image size, just the overall mount size.
Please bring your mounted prints to the club meeting on Monday 13 May. Please also let me know the order in which you want the images presented as I need to put name stickers on the back and make up the list.
Alternatively you could take advantage of Ian’s printing and mounting service, he tells me that the latest you can get the images to him is also 15 April. If you do this you must also give me the names of your images and the order in which you want them presented so I can sort out the list and get name stickers for your images.

The Barking Colour Cup
The Barking Colour Cup is a print competition being held at Barking Camera Club on Thursday 9 May. Each participating club can enter a maximum of only 6 prints with a limit of 2 images from any one photographer. As usual the maximum mount size is 500mm x 400mm.
If you would like to enter any prints for this competition, please either:

Bring your prints along to Chingford Camera Club on Monday 29 April when we compete in the 1 in 100 Competition there.

Bring your prints, or files for Ian to print & mount, to The Rose & Crown on Tuesday 30 April, Ian will be there between 7pm and 8pm.

If you’d like Ian to print and mount your images, you can email him with the files by Tuesday evening.
The Selection Committee will choose the images on Wednesday and the prints need to be delivered to Barking on Thursday so there’s no time to hang about!!

Walker Projected – Round 3
Last night saw the third and final round of the Projected Walker Trophy competition.
Consensus of opinion was that Maggie Tear was a superb judge, providing a clear and concise summary of each image without the usual “crop this”, “crop that”, “Photoshop that” type comments.

A big congratulations to Carolyne Barber who once again won a competition with her absolutely superb entry “Balancing”.

Walker Projected – Round 2
The second round (of three) of the Walker Projected competition took place on Monday 18th February.
Due to the number of entries each person was limited to three images.
Once again there was a very high standard of entries with a different winner this contest, Carolyne Barber.
