On Monday 17th March, bring your camera, as it’s a hands-on members evening and there’ll be a couple of studio flash set-ups for everyone to have a play with.
John Cross and Ian Waterman will be supplying lighting equipment and triggers.
Reflections on a trip to The Falkland islands (in the year of the 25th anniversary of the battle), South Georgia, The South Orkney islands, Elephant Island, (where Shackleton’s men spent over 3 months waiting for his return) the Antarctic peninsula, the South Shetland islands and back to Ushuaia, where we started the journey.
In South Georgia we walked the last 3 miles of Shackleton’s journey from Fortuna bay to the Norwegian run Stromness whaling station which he undertook after sailing 800 miles in an open boat and crossing South Georgia on foot.
On Monday 20th January, our guest speakers will be Kevin and Margery Maskell, with their talk ‘A Moment in Time’. They are keen natural history photographers so expect to see birds and other wildlife, plus landscapes, studio and creative shots, in colour and black and white.
Mark & Judy are members of Harrow Camera Club (HCC). Both are former President/Chairman of the Club, and Mark has served over 20 years as an officer besides other committee roles. Mark is currently Secretary.
Our Journey in Printing
We talk about making prints, using our own as examples. We progress from neg/pos and reversal darkroom work to current digital printing.
Prints are shown to illustrate and discuss various aspects of print making, including composition, colour, retouching, and mounting.
Get your glow sticks out – it’s the party of the year.
Join us on Monday for the WDPS Christmas Party. Our very own Trevor is playing in Petty Cash;
[pullquote]PettyCash was formed in 2009 from the members of a guitar club. The original band consisted of seven members, six guys and a girl drummer, playing just about every kind of music from the 1950’s to the present day, playing mostly at private parties, festivals and fund raising events.
By late 2011 the original band had started to break up following the loss of our lead singer and lead guitarist. In 2012 our drummer left the band to have a baby. The band now down to three people, had become a simple string band playing mostly simple acoustic sets, then in early 2013 the band were joined by Dave Williams, lead vocalist, harmonica player and percussionist and Claire O’Brien guitarist and vocalist.
PettyCash with a new lineup is back, having fun playing all our old favorite covers and good singalong songs at private parties and fundraising events. The band also hosts an Open Mic Night on the third Thursday of every month at the Old Hall Tavern, Chingford.[/pullquote]
